Hydraulic Pressure Reducing Valves - CETOP Mounting

Pressure reducing valves, also known as PRVs or regulators, work to stabilise and control fluid pressure, either reducing the pressure to a safe level or to regulate an unstable supply from which pressure fluctuates. In hydraulics systems, pressure reducing valves are used to maintain lower pressures in branches of the system, controlling the pressure downstream to ensure it flows at a predetermined pressure level. How do pressure reducing valves work?

Pressure reducing valves consist of an open, two-way valve that allows for the flow of fluid to maintain the desired pressure within the lower branches of the system. Where are pressure reducing valves used?

Pressure reducing valves are used in hydraulics and hydraulic systems, from domestic and commercial water supplies, especially in tall building such as hotels, apartment buildings or office blocks, and can also be used in regulating the flow of gas in the same environments for heating requirements. They are also used in large machinery and equipment that need to work at lower pressures, ensuring smooth operation and removing risk of damage caused by high pressures.

What is CETOP Mounting?

CETOP stands for Comité Européen des Transmissions Oléohydrauliques et Pneumatiques, the European Fluid Power Committee. CETOP is the communications platform for fluid power in Europe. CETOP mounting valves have a standard mounting pattern for modular construction. It ensures that any valves from any manufacturer, providing the CETOP pattern is the same is compatible with each other.
