    Crimping Dies

Crimp tool dies are designed for crimping connectors during installation and electrical work. A good example of crimping is affixing a connector to the end of a cable.

How does the crimp tool die work?

Crimping involves the use of a special connector. Each wire is placed into the connector. A crimp tool is then used to tightly squeeze the two, such that the crimping punctures the connector that holds each of the wires, allowing data to be transmitted through the connector. Crimp tool dies can be divided according to the form of crimping involved: square, trapezoidal, hexagon, wrapped up or oval. Crimping tools are sized according to the wire gauge they can accept, making the wire gauge a top consideration. Some crimp tool dies are colour coded to help you identify the proper cable size, taps and lugs that the dies are compatible with.

What is the crimp tool die used for?

Crimp tool dies are extensively used in metalworking. They are also used for securing lids on metal food cans and for rapid but lasting electrical connections.
