RS PRO 10-Way IDC Connector Plug, Cable Mounting, 2 Row
Add termination points to a cable that's already installed with this connector from RS PRO. It's handy for diagnosing, testing or connecting wires in a circuit quickly and with the minimum amount of fuss. An insulation-displacement contact (IDC) connector such as this one is frequently used in low voltage telecommunications and networking applications.
IDC connectors take their name from the function of their sharp blades, which are easily pushed through a conductor's insulation to bypass the need for stripping wires before making a connection. A reliable, gas-tight join is achieved by the cold welding of the blades to the conductor. This connector's contacts are gold-plated, which virtually eliminates the chance of rusting. You can use this plug in situations where a terminal connection is in a hard-to-reach area or otherwise unsuitable to disconnect.
