Eaton FAZ Series MCBs

Eaton FAZ- miniature circuit breakers are Current limiting design provides fast short-circuit interruption that reduces the let-through energy that can damage the circuit, Trip-free design. Breaker cannot be defeated by holding the handle in the ON position

Standards

IEC 60947-2 Relates to Low Voltage Circuit Breakers for use in industrial and similar
Installations. In the UK traditionally known as moulded case circuit breakers
(MCCB’s) and also air circuit breakers (ACB’s).

Q: What is the differences in the Tripping Curves B, C, D and S?

A: Curve B: Tripping: 3 to 5 times the rated current.
Applications: protection of generators, persons, very long cables
Curve C: Tripping: 5 to 10 times the rated current
Applications: protection of circuits and general applications
Curve D: Tripping: 10 to 14 times the rated current
Curve S Tripping 13 to 17 times the rated current
Suitable for applications where high levels of inrush current are expected. Instantaneous trip is 13–17X rating of device (In). The high magnetic trip point prevents nuisance tripping in high inductive applications such as motors, transformers and power supplies
