This metric spur gear from RS PRO is designed to offer high transmission efficiency with no slippage. It's ideal for gear systems with a focus on speed variance, as well as torque multiplication, resolution and accuracy in positioning systems.

Made from EN8 stainless steel with a black oxide finish, the spur gear is strong and resilient. The straight teeth mean it offers a smoother operation. It's a hobbed-type pinion where the outside diameter and hob diameter are both 14 mm. The gear is hobbed for the 10 mm face width and then has a cutter runout. This helps to reduce wobble when the spur gear is in use.

This gear complies with DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung, or the German Institute of Standardisation) 3962, relating to the tolerances for cylindrical gear teeth. You'll find it used in gear motors and gear pumps.
