Productomschrijving
OVR Type 1 surge protective devices for TNC 230V networks - System pro M Compact
The System pro M compact OVR Type 1 surge protective devices for TNC 230V networks incorporate a status indicator which changes from green to red at the end of the devices life. The system pro M also has a safety reserve system whereby in the event of the surge current exceeding the maximum capacity of the device, the surge protective device will switch to the Safety reserve position and the remote indicator (TS) will switch to defect. Consequently, the user is warned in advance and has more time to replace the cartridge, because in Safety reserve position the protection is still ensured due to the 2-stage disconnecting system. The pro m Compact system is a pluggable device which facilitates ease of maintenance in the event of the cartridge failure following a surge and lightening event. Hence the replaceable cartridge can be renewed without the need to isolate the circuit or disconnect any associated wiring. The Auxiliary contact (TS) function is achieved by wiring a 3-point 1 A volt-free contact which enables the operational state of the surge protective device to be checked remotely.
Applications for the System pro M Compact include, Solar and Wind Turbine green energy systems.

Surge Protection Devices, SPDs (DIN-rail)
Voltage surges, often referred to as spikes or transients are typically caused by switching of fluorescent lights, fuses blowing or nearby lightning activity. The worst voltage spikes are usually caused by lightning strikes and can reach up to 6000V, with current surges of over 3000A. The maximum size of the let-through voltage and current inrush depends on the location within the building's wiring system. BS7671: 2011 Amendment 1 Sections 443 and 534 cover risk assessment and provides guidance on protection of electronic equipment for installation engineers to follow. The fullest information on lightning and surge protection comes from the BSEN 62305 series of standards.
