Steel Wire Armoured Cable is a highly reinforced power cable which is used to transport electrical power underground. Each cable is built up of numerous copper cores, followed by XLPE insulation of the cores. The insulated cores are then protected by a layer of PVC bedding, which is secured by steel wire. Outer sheathing can be PVC or LSZH. For more information on Armoured Cable see our detailed guide.

The cable is extremely flexible and instantly recognised by its brightly coloured outer sheath. Yellow for 110V ac and Blue for 240V ac.
Flexible Mains Cables are a common type of electrical cable. They are used for the connection of most portable electrical appliances and light pendants. Flex mains cables come in various CSA’s, usually two or three cores inside a PVC outer sheath.
