The unique construction of the Scotch-Brite™ disc is made up of non-woven fibres and aluminium oxide abrasive making it tough and durable. Compared to traditional abrasives that quickly wear down when used, this discs high cut-rate, hardness, strength and low heat retention make aluminium oxide a popular choice.

This disc produces low heat thanks to its 3M precision-shaped grain, which is a triangular-shaped ceramic grain that wears evenly to provide durability and consistency. It allows heat to directly dissipate from a workpiece, which greatly minimises the risk of overheating and helps to produce high-quality parts.

The Roloc™ system from 3M™ provides a secure attachment on heavy duty applications. It allows for Roloc discs to be quickly swapped out from one application to another in seconds. The plastic threaded button or screw is designed to easily and quickly screw on a Roloc TR disc pad (50 mm backing pad - 288-471).
