    What is a Radio Controlled Clock?

    A Radio Controlled Wall Clock receives a time signal from a radio transmitter that is tuned to an 'Atomic Clock'. Radio Controlled clocks have a margin of error of just one second in 100,000 years. The transmitter signal is picked up by the watch or clock and sets the time and date automatically.

    At what frequency does the DCF signal operate?

    The signal operates on a frequency of 77.5 kHz. Its radio call sign is known as DCF-77.

    Why am I having DCF reception difficulties?

    It could be that there is a reduced local signal. Also, the clock will only operate in buildings where the UK time code signal can penetrate. Metal clad buildings and others with re-enforced concrete are likely to cause problems in this respect.

    Are Radio Controlled Clocks safe?

    It is safe to use a radio-controlled clock anywhere, even in hospitals. The clock emits no radio waves, but only receives them; therefore, it does not have any effect on the human body.
