RS PRO Durometer
Evaluate the surface of soft materials quickly and accurately with this hardness tester from RS PRO. Also referred to as a Shore A durometer, it can be used to take hardness measurements in rubber, PVC, elastomers, neoprene and leather.
By inserting the durometer's indenter into a material's surface, its hardness can be calculated according to the resistance force on the probe. The dial goes up to 100 in Shore hardness graduations. As it's supplied with a protective case for the durometer and a swing-away protection plate to guard the indenter, the device can be kept safe. A test piece is also provided so you can regularly test the instrument's accuracy and ensure the reliability of your parts.
This hardness tester is manufactured to comply with ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) rules in the US and European DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung, or the German organization for standardization) standards for accuracy. It's regularly used in workshops and garages.
