StarTech KVM Switch, 5120 x 1440 Maximum Resolution, 2 Ports - SV231DPUCA

This KVM switch enables control of two USB-C hosts through a single DisplayPort monitor, consolidating keyboard, mouse and peripherals for professional workstations. It supports USB-C DP Alt Mode and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4 and USB4 hosts. The unit includes a metal enclosure and front-panel push button for direct port selection, Plus hotkey switching for keyboard control. It accommodates audio routing and provides multiple USB hub ports to centralise device connectivity in desktop or studio environments.

Features and Benefits:

• Supports 5120 x 1440@60Hz for high-detail display workflows
• Six USB-A hub ports provide peripheral connectivity
• 3.5mm stereo and mic support centralises audio I/O
• Mode switch trades USB speed for video bandwidth
• Compatible with USB-C DP Alt Mode and Thunderbolt hosts

Applications

• Suitable for CAD/CAM work requiring high-resolution output
• Ideal for video editing at 4K60 with HDR support
• Used with content-creation workstations needing shared peripherals
• Can be used in multi-host desks for single-display control
• Used for workstation setups requiring centralised audio switching

What video standards and protections does it support?

It uses DisplayPort 1.2 with HDCP 2.2 and HDR capability for wide‑colour and protected content.

How does the audio routing operate for connected hosts?

Audio is available as two-channel analogue stereo and digital output via 3.5mm or USB audio interfaces with selectable profiles via hotkeys.

What power and environmental operating limits apply?

The unit is powered by a 12V DC adapter, operates between 0°C and 40°C, and tolerates 0-80% relative humidity.

How are USB performance and display performance balanced?

A rear mode switch lets you prioritise 4K60 video with USB 2.0 hub speeds or select two 5 Gbps hub ports with reduced 4K30 video throughput.
