Allen Bradley 1492 SP Series Miniature Circuit Breakers – Type B

The 1492-SPM Type B general purpose Miniature Circuit Breakers by Allen Bradley offer excellent protection for electrical circuits. With this series 1, 2, and 3 Pole units are available so that you can find the perfect MCB to suit your application.

The 1492-SPM series of MCB’s are current limiting and have an instantaneous break time. These models have Type B Tripping characteristics. They are IP20 finger-safe and they also have dual terminals for wiring and bus bar flexibility. Installation is simple as these MCB’s can be DIN rail mounted, and up to six accessories can be fixed on the same circuit breaker to provide a complete electrical safety system. The 1492-SPM series of circuit breakers reduces downtime from nuisance tripping due to their enhanced shock and vibration resistance.

A Type B miniature circuit breaker will trip instantly at a rate of three to five times its rated current. These MCB’s are often used for small inductive loads where switching surges are very low. They are frequently used in residential or light commercial applications.

Features and Benefits:

• Easy and fast installation via DIN rail mounting
• Instantaneous break time
• Available in 1, 2 or 3 pole versions

Allen Bradley Mini Circuit Breaker, Breaking Capacity 10kA, 4A Current Rating - 1492-SPM1B040

Use this miniature circuit breaker (MCB) from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley range to protect your electrical systems from current overloads. It's a type-B device, which means it will trip instantly when it receives three to five times its rated current. This makes it suitable for small circuits with light loads where switching surges are minimal. Thanks to dual terminals, you have the freedom to decide if you'll use a bus bar or wire connection to link this versatile device to your circuits. It's a popular choice for residential applications.

• Clear indicator window on the switch to show contact position
• Easy DIN rail mounting saves time and effort
• Enhanced shock and vibration resistance to eliminate nuisance tripping and reduce downtime
• IP20 (ingress protection) rated to withstand dust and objects larger than 12mm in size

Standards and Certifications

• CCC (China Compulsory Certificate)
• VDE (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker)
• RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)

What's the difference between an MCB and an MCCB?

The main difference between an MCB and an MCCB (moulded case circuit breaker) is capacity. An MCB is mainly for low-energy applications (under 250A) like domestic wiring, while an MCCB is suited to protecting high-powered equipment.
