The Vsense, a unique feature found in the U1242C Series performs non-contact voltage detection. It delivers more safety while making measurements in dangerous working environments by avoiding any contact with hot or live wires, suspected AC voltage presence or simply and act of safety precaution before initiating a task. Upon detection of voltage, it produces a unique combination of beeping alert and blinking LED light to make measurements more efficiently – especially in a dark or noisy environment.

In real life, harmonics are present in AC power due to the fact that many electronic devices are powered by switched mode current pulses which travel back into the power source.
