Omron D4SL-N Series Safety Interlock Component, Safety Accessory Cable - D4SL-CN3

This safety interlock component is an industrial guard-locking switch assembly designed to control access to hazardous machine areas and prevent entrapment during maintenance. It is intended for use in automation and electrical systems where door position monitoring and lock monitoring are required, and pairs with a dedicated accessory cable to provide secure connectorised wiring to controllers and safety relay units.

Features & Benefits

• 24VDC solenoid drive enabling direct controller operation
• 1,300N minimum holding force for positive retention
• IP67 enclosure for protection against dust and water ingress
• Mechanical and solenoid lock options for flexible control
• Direct-opening contact mechanism for safety circuits
• Connector cable lengths available for installation adaptability

Applications

• Suitable for integration with safety relay units in packaging lines
• Ideal for door interlocking on robotic cells and press guards
• used with aluminium-frame enclosures and lightweight doors
• Can be used for machinery where trapped-worker prevention is required

Which cable options support connectorised wiring for this switch?

Connector cables are offered in 1m, 3m, 5m and 10m lengths with a 10-pin AWG22 lead arrangement to mate with the switch connector and provide all signal and solenoid conductors.

How does the lock monitor function operate in safety circuits?

The lock monitor provides dedicated NC contacts to confirm solenoid energisation and whether the door is locked, suitable for wiring into safety inputs and feedback loops.

What are the electrical requirements for the solenoid?

The solenoid is rated for 24VDC operation with a higher inrush for approx. 10s followed by a constant-current running state

correct power-supply capacity must be provided.

Are there options to prevent accidental trapping of personnel?

A removable lockout key allows a worker to secure the slide handle externally, preventing another person from locking the door while someone is inside.

What environmental and mechanical limits should installers note?

The device operates between −10 to 55°C, withstands 1,000,000 mechanical cycles minimum, and must be mounted with specified tightening torques and cable-gland practices to maintain sealing.
