SKF Seal, 38mm Inside Diameter, 62mm Outside Diameter - 38X62X7 HMSA10 RG

This radial shaft seal is designed to separate rotating and stationary components, preventing lubricant loss and contamination ingress in machinery. It features a rubber outer body with an elastomeric primary sealing lip and an auxiliary non‑contacting lip to improve exclusion of dust and debris while maintaining fluid retention under typical industrial operating conditions.

Features & Benefits

• Garter spring maintains lip contact and consistent sealing pressure
• Auxiliary non‑contacting lip improves contamination exclusion
• Rubber outside diameter ensures secure housing fit and vibration damping
• Accommodates shaft misalignment for extended service life

**Applications**

• Suitable for bearings in automation and robotics assemblies
• Ideal for rotating shafts in electrical motor drives
• Used with gearboxes requiring oil retention and dust exclusion
• Can be used for rotating Seals in mechanical actuators and couplings
• Suitable for maintenance replacement in industrial pumps

What temperatures can it tolerate during operation?

It operates continuously between -40°C to 100°C and withstands short peaks to 120°C.

How fast can the shaft rotate while remaining effective?

The seal is rated for circumferential speeds up to 6.72 m/s and rotational speeds up to 3,360 r/min.

How does the seal cope with slight pressure differences?

It is designed for low pressure differentials of around 0.03 N/mm², suitable for typical oil‑retaining applications.

What materials form the static and dynamic sealing elements?

The housing‑facing outside diameter is rubber with metal reinforcement, while the sealing lip is nitrile rubber (NBR).

Are there recommended auxiliary parts for installation?

A thin protective sleeve such as a Speedi‑Sleeve can be used where shaft surface damage is present to aid fitting.
