This 240 W embedded switch-mode power supply from RS PRO is an electronic circuit that uses a switching element to convert power efficiently.

Switch-mode power supplies, or SMPSs for short, convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC), which is the type required by most battery-powered devices and some electronic equipment. They use a switching regulator that continuously turns the current supply on and off, keeping voltage at the desired level while minimising wasted energy.

This compact RS PRO model is enclosed in a vented metal casing with easy-access screw terminals for installation. It’s lighter than a traditional AC to DC power supply unit and comes with a sturdy chassis mount.

This product has been rigorously tested for safety and quality. It conforms to the standard EN 61000-3-17 (limitations for harmonic current) and is suitable for use with a wide range of equipment.
