StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 1m Cable Length, Yellow Jacket - SMDOS2SCSC1M

This Fibre optic cable provides singlemode duplex connectivity for high-bandwidth network links. It links equipment using SC/SC UPC terminations and is intended for data-centre and enterprise environments where long‑reach, low‑attenuation transmission is required. The cable is designed for use across a broad laser-optimised Wavelength range and is clad in a low‑smoke zero‑halogen jacket for installations within enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces.

Features and Benefits:

• 0.3 dB insertion loss for low signal degradation over links
• 55 dB return loss to reduce reflected signal interference
• 9/125 μm core for singlemode long‑distance transmission
• 10 mm loaded bend radius for tight routing without loss
• −20 °C to 60 °C rated operation for varied ambient conditions

Applications

• Suitable for 40G/100G Ethernet backbone links
• Ideal for server to switch interconnects in racks
• Used with CWDM systems across 1260 to 1625 nm
• Can be used in enclosed transport environments
• Suitable for legacy OS1 network backwards compatibility

What Wavelength range does it support?

It supports laser‑optimised transmission across 1260 to 1625 nm for CWDM use.

How is Fibre alignment ensured at connectors?

Ceramic ferrules provide precise alignment to achieve the specified insertion loss.

What safety advantage does the jacket offer?

The LSZH jacket emits reduced smoke and toxic fumes when exposed to fire.

How is performance verified prior to dispatch?

Each cable is individually tested for insertion loss and shipped with a test report.
