This limit switch is a Compact mechanical device designed to detect and control rotary motion in industrial systems using a side-mounted rotary actuator. It operates in harsh environments and provides snap-action switching for reliable detection of position changes in automation, electrical and mechanical installations.

The unit accepts a 1/2 in to 14 NPT conduit entry to accommodate standard threaded conduit fittings.

The device is intended for side mounting so the rotary actuator is positioned laterally to Interface directly with machine linkages.

It is specified for operation between -12°C and 121°C to suit a wide span of ambient conditions.

It carries approvals to IEC, EN, UL, CSA, CE and CCC and meets RoHS requirements.

The operating torque is specified as 0.45 N·m for actuator engagement.

HDLS switches have a IP65, IP66 and IP67 rating. This means they are dust-tight and offer protection against water jets, heavy seas and the effects of immersion.


NEMA 1, 3, 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12, 13
Type 1: Enclosures that meet Type 1 are for indoor use, and provide some limited protection for the enclosed equipment.
Type 3: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain or snow). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 4: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 4X: Allows for indoor our outdoor use and provides some ptoection against windust dust and rain, corroision, splashing water and hose directed water.
Type 6: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 4 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 6P: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from solid objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as hose directed water). Enclosures that meet the NEMA 6P requirement also offer protection against water when being submerged at a limited depth.
Type 12: Limit switches that meet Type 12 requirements provide limited protection against dust, falling dirt and non-corrosive liquids.
Type 13: Enclosures that meet Type 13 are suited to harsh environments. Enclosures can be used indoors and provide protection against access to hazardous parts. They offer protection against solid objects such as falling dirt, windblown dirt, fibres and lint. They provide a level of protection from dripping and splashing water and other liquids such as spraying splashing and seepage of oil and non-corrosive coolants."
