Eaton Arc Fault Detection Device, 2 Pole, Type B - AFDD+ Series - AFDD-10/2/B/003-A

This AFDD (arc fault detection device) from Eaton breaks circuits when it detects electrical arcs or high-power discharges of electricity between two conductors. These faults are typically caused by loose or damaged wires and terminals, and can generate enough heat to cause a fire. As well as an AFDD, this multi-purpose device functions as an RCD (residual current device) to detect and prevent earth faults, and an MCB (miniature circuit breaker) for short circuit overloads.

• LED fault indicator signals the exact cause of the trip

• Green-to-red coloured switch indicators clearly show when device is on or off

• Yellow tripping test button lets you check switch is operational

How do I install this device?

Connect the neutral and line wires either way round into the bottom of the device and connect the load wires to the top.

How does the LED indicator work?

The LED side indicator is green in normal operation. When turned back on after a trip, a yellow light flashes between one and six times to indicate the cause. This tells you whether it is one of two series arc faults, a parallel arc fault, overvoltage, overheating or a wider system fault.
