Eaton Arc Fault Detection Device, 2 Pole, Type B - AFDD+ Series - AFDD-13/2/B/003-A

Protect your electrical supply from hazards with this Eaton AFDD (arc fault detection device). This device identifies series and parallel arc faults caused by loose wires and worn contacts. These faults generate heat that melts wire insulation and can potentially start electrical fires. This AFDD also incorporates RCD (residual current device) and MCB (miniature circuit breaker) functionality, for protection against earth faults and short circuits. An LED (light-emitting diode) indicator tells you the cause of a trip by flashing one to six times, with each number indicating a different type of fault.

• DIN rail mounting style saves space and keeps components organised

• Screw terminals ensures reliable connections without the need for special tools

• Compact dimensions of 54 (L) x 70 (D) x 80mm (W)

What types of fault does this AFDD detect?

This device combines the functionality of three types of circuit breakers to trip a circuit if a fault is detected. The AFDD functionality checks for sudden spikes in power resulting from arc faults, while RCD capability looks for line imbalances that could cause electric shocks. The unit's MCB function detects short circuits and overcurrents.
