Used to supply electricity between two circuits, this RS PRO variable transformer is suitable for many different commercial and domestic applications, from audio systems to power distribution or transmission. The rugged construction and enclosed housing make this product Durable and virtually maintenance-free.

The transformer has a silver-plated commutator that periodically reverses the current direction between the rotor and the external circuit. This provides a smooth linear output with no waveform distortion. There's also overload protection built into the device.

The device's continuously variable AC output voltage and overvoltage tap means it regulates well. It has a low operating torque and low magnetising current, which make it very efficient. It can be easily installed with surface, floor or wall mounting and needs earthing using the earth studs provided.

This transformer is part of RS PRO's series of Varivolt transformers, which come as single-phase or three-phase in a range of current settings.
