The MTL5500 Series is the latest generation of MTL intrinsic safety isolators designed to meet the needs of the intrinsic safety (IS) interface market for application focussed projects, from single instrument loops to fully equipped cabinets. Eaton MTL Temperature Converter Zener Barrier, 20mA Maximum Current, 1 Channel - MTL5575/RS
Use this Zener barrier from Eaton MTL with a temperature sensor in a hazardous location. It converts electrical signals to current levels that are safe for a connected instrumentation device. For versatility, the unit is compatible with both thermocouples and RTDs (resistance temperature detectors). An integrated alarm output notifies you if the preset temperature limits have been reached, allowing you to act quickly. How do I configure this Zener barrier?
You can configure this device by connecting it to your computer and setting up the compatible MTL PCS45 software with a PCL45USB serial interface. This lets you adjust the parameters for the thermometers and RTDs and set the alarm output to low-process or high-process.
