Spanner Sets

What measurements are used for spanner sets?

Imperial Spanners

Imperial spanners use the AF (across flats) system, where the measurement is taken between two parallel sides of the fastener. An inch spanner will fit an inch fastener.

Metric Spanners

Metric spanners also use the AF (across flats) system, where the measurement is taken between two parallel sides of the fastener. However, they will use metric measurements, giving a measurement in millimetres (mm) rather than inches.
