StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, OM4 Fibre Type, Aqua - 450FBLCLC7

This Fibre optic cable provides multimode duplex connectivity for high-speed network links. It is intended for 40Gbps and 100Gbps environments using LC/UPC terminations and is suitable where low-smoke, zero-halogen routing is required. The cable supports VCSEL and LED sources at common multimode wavelengths and operates across a wide industrial temperature range.

Features and Benefits:

• 50/125μm core/cladding delivers high modal bandwidth performance
• OM4 specification supports 100Gbps network throughput
• LSZH jacket reduces smoke and toxic fumes during combustion
• UPC-polished LC ends lower return loss for improved signal quality
• Individually tested to ensure insertion loss within limits

Applications

• Suitable for SAN and data server interconnects
• Used with SFP+, QSFP+, and QSFP28 transceivers
• Ideal for high-density patch panels in data centres
• Can be used for fibre-channel storage networking
• Suitable for installations on trains and aircraft where LSZH is required

What operating temperatures can it tolerate?

It functions between -20°C and 60°C.

Which connector types are fitted to the cable?

Duplex LC/UPC connectors are fitted at both ends.

What core specification does the Fibre use?

The Fibre uses 50/125μm multimode construction optimised for VCSELs.

Is the jacket flame-retardant and safe for enclosed spaces?

The jacket is LSZH, emitting minimal smoke and halogen-free gases when combusted.
