How does a Zener barrier work?
A Zener barrier works in two stages. If there's an electrical fault, the diodes restrict the voltage that would otherwise reach the hazardous area, while the resistor curbs the current. This design ensures a seamless safety net even if one of the stages malfunctions.
What does ISB mean?
ISB stands for Intrinsic Safety Barrier. ISB devices like this one limit the energy that can be brought from a safe source to a hazardous area, preventing explosive results.
