Siemens Air Quality Sensor, 2000ppm Maximum Carbon Dioxide Level, 95%RH Maximum Humidity Measurement - QSA2700D / S55720-S458

This Air quality sensor measures indoor particulate concentrations and communicates readings for building automation environments. It monitors PM2.5 and PM10 and provides analogue and digital outputs for integration into control systems. The device is suited to indoor use within typical room temperature and humidity ranges and includes a display-equipped variant with an energy-saving proximity function.

Features & Benefits

• DC 0 to 10 V dual outputs for PM2.5 and PM10 enabling direct controller inputs
• Modbus RS485 Interface for configurable digital communication
• Micro USB 5V supply for display operation where needed
• Selectable measuring ranges up to 500μg/m3 for adaptable sensitivity
• Proximity-triggered screen to reduce power draw in the absence of occupants
• Unit-to-unit variability limited to ±15μg/m3 and ±15% for comparable readings

**Applications**

• Suitable for integration with HVAC and building management systems
• Ideal for greenhouse CO2 monitoring when combined with bussed CO2 sensors
• Used for indoor air-quality logging in industrial facilities
• Can be used for classroom and office ventilation control strategies
• Used with Modbus-enabled controllers for automated environmental control

How is the device configured on an RS485 network?

It accepts configurable baud rates (9600, 19200, 38400, 57600) and transmission formats with a writable Modbus address range of 1–247 and registers for parameter changes.

What maintenance is required for accurate particulate measurement?

The replaceable sensor module should be renewed every 1–3 years depending on local PM concentration, with more frequent replacement in continuously high-dust environments.

What error indications are available for diagnostics?

The device signals replace-module and communication faults via specific Modbus registers and status outputs

the display and LED provide visible alerts and 0/10 V error signalling patterns.

What environmental limits govern installation?

It operates between 0 to 50 °C and 5 to 95 % r.h. (non-condensing) and must not be mounted near direct heat, in recesses, or where oil smog is present.
