StarTech Fibre Optic Cable, 3M Cable Length, Aqua - 450FBLCLC3

This Fibre optic cable provides multimode connectivity for high-speed networks, designed for short-range data transmission using OM4 50/125μm Fibre. It is a duplex LC/UPC to LC/UPC patch cord with a Low Smoke Zero Halogen jacket suited to installations where reduced toxic emissions are required. The cable supports VCSEL and LED light sources and is intended for dense networking environments including data centres and SANs.

Features and Benefits:

• 100Gbps maximum data rate for high-throughput links
• Modal bandwidth 2000MHz·km at 850nm for increased capacity
• LC/UPC ceramic ferrules reduce insertion and return loss
• LSZH jacket limits smoke and toxic gas release
• Operating range -20°C to 60°C for varied environments

Applications

• Used with QSFP+ and QSFP28 transceivers in Data Racks
• Suitable for 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet backbone connections
• Ideal for Fibre channel SAN links and server interconnects
• Can be used in high-density switch and patch-panel arrays

What core and cladding dimensions does it use?

It uses 50/125μm multimode Fibre with a 125μm core diameter.

Which light sources is it optimised for?

It is laser-optimised for VCSELs and compatible with LED sources at 850nm and 1300nm.

How does the jacket material affect installation safety?

The Low Smoke Zero Halogen construction reduces smoke and toxic fumes during combustion, suitable for poorly ventilated or self-contained locations.

Is this cable compatible with earlier multimode standards?

The OM4 Fibre is backward compatible with OM3 networks and supports 1/10/40/100Gbps connections.

What testing ensures signal performance?

Each cable is individually tested to meet specified insertion loss and attenuation criteria.
